Accessible horticultural education is hard to find, but here at HOEC we have a unique opportunity to serve an enthusiastic community of future food growers. What we have to share, is public access to a very special educational orchard, a wealth of knowledge, years of experience, & an incredible desire to guide anyone and everyone interested in learning new skills to support a strong local food system.
Donations to this fund help us keep the gates open. They pay for essential staffing, basic repairs, and all of the boring but necessary goodies it takes to keep things running behind the scenes.
We know that fresh local food is out of reach for many of our neighbors. This fund gives us the opportunity to distribute fruit grown in the orchard freely to folks who wouldn’t otherwise have access.
This fund provides fee waivers to students who may not otherwise be able to attend workshops, as we work towards the ability to offer truly financially accessible opportunities for everyone.
