Position: Website & Data Specialist, Part-Time
Starting Date: Immediate
Hours: 20-24 hours per month
Compensation: $17-20 /hour (dependent on experience)
Commitment: 1 year
Location: Remote
Position Description: The Website and Data Specialist reports to the Executive Director and works in close collaboration with the Social Media Marketing Specialist. Tasks include: maintenance and development of the HOEC website through the creation and implementation of new pages and products, and the ensured functionality and performance of all existing content; administrative and records-keeping support across all of the organization’s programs; providing administrative and communications support for the Orchard CSA program; and any additional tasks as dictated by the ED while generally supporting a healthy, positive, and accountable team environment.
Position Duties
Maintain, manage, and trouble-shoot the functionality and performance of the HOEC website on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
Create and maintain all store pages on the HOEC website to support the sale of workshops, CSA memberships, and all other seasonal sales, including updating store inventory as needed.
Update and create pages of the HOEC website at the direction of the ED.
Design and send monthly newsletter with content provided by Social Media Marketing Specialist and other potential contributors.
Create and link Google Forms to the HOEC website to support CSA, Volunteer, Fee Waiver, and other program participant registration needs.
Maintain and monitor the communications email address, and respond to messages or queries from the public in a timely manner in alignment with HOEC’s mission and values (or forward to relevant staff members as needed).
Receive email notification of purchase orders and registration forms for all HOEC programs and sales, and keep timely and accurate records of all relevant information therein via the organization’s existing tracking documents (as directed by the ED).
Send reminder emails to all Workshop participants, New Volunteer Orientation participants, and other programs on an as-needed basis.
In close collaboration with the ED, provide administrative and communications support for the Orchard CSA program in the form of payment reminder emails, and SNAP/DUFB- related support in communication with partner organizations.
Required Skills
Eligible applicants will have:
Experience and strong familiarity and skills with website design, development, maintenance, and functionality in Squarespace.
Strong skills with e-newsletter creation through Squarespace Campaigns.
Experience and familiarity with Google Drive and G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
Excellent visual literacy, especially concerning new content creation for public audiences.
Required Traits
Eligible applicants will be:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starting, and motivated to work both independently and collaboratively in a primarily remote position
Have a genuine interest in organic gardening, horticulture, and/or orcharding.

About HOEC:
The Home Orchard Education Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit based on a 1.6-acre, mature, mixed species Community Orchard located in Clackamas County, Oregon. HOEC offers horticulture education, volunteer opportunities, a venue for intergenerational connection, and fruit-focused CSA (“Community Supported Agriculture”) programs within a unique Community Orchard setting. This special gathering place is a humming hive of community collaboration, and serves as the a hub for the distribution of fresh, local, naturally grown fruit.
