Spring Workshop Series: Pruning Small Fruits Tuesday, MARCH 18th, 2025 • 11am - 1pm
Join us for a workshop focused on pruning techniques for small fruiting shrubs. This session will cover the best pruning practices including how to encourage growth and abundant harvests.
In this session, we will cover proper pruning techniques and characteristics of resilient small fruits known for their nutrient-rich berries, such as goumi berries, ariona, and currants. For some extra flavor, workshop attendees will also learn about honeyberries (aka haskaps) and maybe even some evergreen huckleberries. While all these species will be covered, attendees are welcome to come with questions about other types of small fruiting plants.
Proper pruning is essential for maintaining plant health, improving air circulation and fruit yield. Small fruits require pruning on a smaller, more specific scale. We’d love to help build your knowledge through this demonstrative session with opportunities for hands-on learning.
Know before you go:
If you have them, please bring hand pruners, loppers, and hand saws. If you don’t have your own, you may borrow from our stash.
All workshops are held outdoors rain or shine. Please dress for the weather!
Bring your own water bottle.
Refunds:
Due to limited class space, please note: workshops are non-refundable after purchase with the exception of weather-related campus closures.
Refunds are available for weather related campus closures if rescheduling is not possible. Please keep an eye on your inbox (and spam folder) for an email including rescheduling information if applicable.
We look forward to learning with you!
